About the product
The Stannol VD-500 thinner is based on isopropanol and is a ready-to-use thinner for electronic fluxes.
Areas of application
The Stannol VD-500 thinner is used where flux is kept in open containers and evaporation losses and thus a concentration of the flux can occur. This can occur, for example, in foam fluxers or open containers for dip fluxing. By adding the correct amount of thinner, the required concentration of flux can be restored. Determining the required amount of thinner can be difficult if the original flux has a higher solids content of >10% by measuring the density. For low-solids no-clean fluxes, determining the acid number of the concentrated flux is a much more accurate and therefore more suitable method. Stannol offers a mini-titration set for reliable and simple determination of the acid number. The VD-500 thinner is also suitable as a solvent for residues of organic resins and acids.
