The highly efficient switching regulators of the R-78xx series are ideal as a replacement for the 78xx linear regulators and are pin-compatible. The efficiency of up to 97% means that very little energy is wasted in the form of heat, so there is no need for heat sinks with their additional space and mounting costs. Low ripple and noise levels as well as short-circuit, overload and overtemperature protection round off the specifications of this versatile converter series. The R-78xx-0.5 is fully certified according to the EMC standard EN55032 and for safety according to IEC/EN-60950-1 + AM2.
