STDC desoldering tips are the standard desoldering nozzle range for the MX-500, MX-5000 and MX-5200 series stations from Metcal.

STDC cartridges are available in 2 temperature ranges, the 700 series with a nominal 390 ˚C and the 800 series with a nominal 450 ˚C. The temperature/series is indicated by the first digit after the hyphen in the part number, e.g. 700 series STTC-1xx and 800 series STTC-8xx. Metcal recommends the 700 series for most applications. The 800 series for high temperature and thermally demanding applications. They can be used with leaded and lead-free solder. Metcal's SmartHeat® technology automatically adjusts the power levels during each soldering process.
