Advantages of LFP batteries

• High level of safety: Due to the cell chemistry, LFP cells are considered intrinsically safe, i.e. thermal runaway and membrane melting are prevented.

• Low self-discharge, i.e. approx. 5 % per month compared to 30 % for NiCd and 35 % for NiMH).

• Over 50 % less space required thanks to smaller cells compared to NiCd and NiMH.
• Lower procurement costs compared to NiMH batteries.
